The Cardigan and Pembrokeshire Coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are many places to visit.  Close to the cottage, The Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve is situated on the floor of the wide pre-glacial channel left by the former course of the Teifi, which meanders through the marshes in a narrow but deceptively deep cut.  A range of habitats are supported, from open pasture and well wooded hedgerows,  freshwater marsh with open pools and reedbeds to tidal mudbanks. Teifi Marshes is also home to the stunning Welsh Wildlife Centre.  The building won an award for achitectual design in 1993, consists largely of wood and glass and has panoramic views over the river, Cardigan Town and woodland.  The Centre organises events throughout the year.  Contact www.ysgolnatur.co.uk

Water Buffalo are used to graze the site all year round.

Within the building you will find the fantastic Glasshouse Cafe which offers a magnificent menu using organic and locally produced foods.
