Cilgerran Cottrage is situated on the edge of the charming historical village of Cilgerran, down a quiet lane which leads to a riverside picnic area next to the river Teifi.
Enjoy views of the dramatic, wooded Teifi Gorge threading through the rolling farming landscape of North Pembrokeshire and the imposing ruins of Cilgerran Castle, which was once painted by Turner. The village offers a village store and post office, two cosy pubs and a tearoom. It is an ideal base for walking, bird watching, canoeing, fishing, cycling and enjoying the arts and culture of the local area.
Nearby is Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve, and bustling Cardigan Town is just 3 miles away. The beautiful North Pembrokeshire Coast is a 15 minute drive down country lanes.

Many of the local beaches are part of the National Trust. The closest beach is Poppit which is just passed the village of St Dogmaels (drive towards Cardigan and take the left turn before the bridge). This is a wide, sandy beach with very safe bathing for children who enjoy playing in the sand dunes. You can also bring your dog.
Further afield towards Pembrokeshire, the beach at Newport is great for games, kites and swimming and there are several small beaches further down the coast if you want to explore. Visit the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy for diving and swimming in this old slate quarry. An exhilarating day out.
In the opposite direction, past Cardigan Boating Club and take the path beyond the Cliff Hotel for an invigorating walk with small sandy beaches (the second beach is the best). Further on, past the village of Verwig, our personal favourite beach is at Mwnt with stunning views and a lovely sandy beach. Continue on the coast to Aberporth, Tresaith and Llangrannog beaches, all of which have sandy beaches and great waves for swimming and boarding. It is possible to see Bottlenosed Dophins so keep a look out!
